It is definitely the season to keep warm and the best way to do that is to cozy up by a fire. Not everyone has a fireplace though, including myself. Personally I'm not really looking for an electric fireplace, I rather something with a flame. I do have gas to my apartment but I'm not interested in spending the time or money to try and get approval for a gas fireplace, likely would not happen. Bio-ethanol fire places seem to be the way to go!
Bio-ethanol is a completely environment friendly energy resource. It is extracted from renewable raw material like starch plants, sugar plants and some cellulose plants. When it burns it does so more cleanly than other kinds of fuels and emits only water and as little carbon dioxide as we exhale.
There are several benefits to these fireplaces: safe, portable (indoor, outdoor, wall mounted), smokeless, ordorless, no chimney, no gas or electric connection needed, easy to install (take out of the box and fuel it up), low cost to run (5 litres of fuel will burn for 8-20 hours depending on size of fireplace, cost/ litre is approx. $5) and low maintenance.
The best part is you won't have any trouble finding a slick modern looking fireplace. For the most part that's they way they all are! The only downside could be the cost, depending on your budget and how cold you really are they can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. Either way they are a great alternative!
